FINDING A VOICE

One Survivor's Decades of Silence, and the Decision to End it.

As a 19-year-old U.S. Army recruit, Ron Carter was assaulted by a non-commissioned officer. He did not report it. Untreated PTSD followed him for decades. He wrote the book to reach MST survivors who never come forward, especially men, and to reduce veteran suicide.

He wrote The Monster Inside of Me to reach MST survivors who never come forward, especially men, and to help reduce veteran suicide. Based in San Marcos, Texas, he now spends his time turning that survival into a voice for others.

AWARENESS. ACCOUNTABILITY. ADVOCACY.

The Pillars of Health

Recovery didn't arrive as a single appointment. This is the order Ron rebuilt a life after MST and decades of untreated PTSD

Spiritual Health

A reason to stay in the world when the monster wants the last word. Church, honest conversation, and faith gave the days shape again.

Physical Health

The body kept what the system didn't write down. Sleep, strength, and showing up gave the mind a place to stand.

Mental Health

Years of therapy and naming what happened instead of burying it. So a man who never told anyone can see himself in these pages.

Financial Health

A veteran can't rebuild on an empty floor. The stability that lets the other three pillars continue.
